Our Bollywood Workshop at the V&A Museum
On a December evening, we had the incredible opportunity to lead a Bollywood dance workshop at the prestigious Victoria and Albert Museum. This wasn’t just any workshop — it was part of the V&A’s annual members’ evening, a highly anticipated event that draws hundreds of attendees each year. Over 100 enthusiastic participants joined us for a night of culture, community, and dance, making it one of our most memorable workshops to date.
A Workshop Inspired by the Mughal Empire
The timing of our workshop couldn’t have been more perfect. The V&A is currently hosting an exhibition on the Mughal Empire, showcasing the opulent art, architecture, and cultural contributions of one of history’s most fascinating eras. Drawing inspiration from this theme, we curated a Bollywood dance experience that celebrated both the historical richness of the exhibition and the vibrant energy of Bollywood dance.
The Song That Brought Everyone Together
We chose a high energy Bollywood song and it made the perfect anthem to get everyone engaged. The overwhelming turnout showed us just how much people were eager to engage with dance as a medium to connect with history and community. The room buzzed with energy, and every smile and move spoke volumes about the power of dance to bring people together.
This workshop was the perfect way to wrap up an incredible year for cobeat. It reinforced why we do what we do: creating moments of connection and joy through dance. We left the V&A inspired and more excited than ever for what’s to come in 2025.
A huge thank you to the V&A Museum for inviting us to be part of such a special evening. We’re honored to have played a role in celebrating the Mughal Empire’s legacy through the universal language of dance.
If you missed this event, don’t worry — we have plenty more exciting workshops and classes lined up for the new year. Stay tuned to our website and social media for updates, and we’ll see you on the dance floor soon!
