‘Intro to Contemporary Bollywood’

This course is designed for anyone looking to level up the way they dance and their movement style, specifically aimed at improvers. As the title of the course suggests the dance style we will be focusing on is Contemporary Bollywood. We will be learning one piece of choreography but we will be focusing on movement and more technical aspects such as body control and floor work. In our last class we will focus on performance.

Please find more details on our first, ‘Intro to Contemporary Bollywood’ course below. The full course costs £60, and there is filming of smaller groups in the last week of the course.

Spots will be very limited so that there is more opportunity for individual support and feedback in the duration of the course.

  • What will we be learning?

    We will be learning one track and one piece of choreography throughout the duration of the course. The course is made up of 3 weeks, the first two weeks are 1.5 hrs long with the last week being 1 hr long with performances in smaller groups.

  • Main elements of the course.

    As well as learning a piece of choreography, there will be a focus on several core elements that are the foundations to helping us become the best dancers we can be.

    These include but are not limited to;

    • Body control, fluidity, lines and musicality

    • Technical elements including floor work

    In the last week there will be a focus on performance where there will be filming of small groups.

FAQs

What should I bring to the classes?

Please bring a pair of kneepads to the course, water and yourselves! We prefer dancing this style without trainers (either barefoot or with socks).
